I am a huge fan of Jessica Nail Custom Nail Colours, they’re always so pigmented and rich. This is one of their Fall 2012 Spicy Dreams Collection – Number 736 Gingersnap. It’s a pretty glittery red/bronze duochrome polish (Jessica Nails love their duochromes!!) that is just gorgeous. Shimmery gingery goodness As with all Jessica Nail colours, this is super pigmented and only needed two coats for full coverage!
However it’s kinda impossible to take photos that do any justice to the polish as it looks different in the sun/shade/indoors/outdoors etc and my Iphone camera isn’t powerful enough to capture it properly. I tried though…
I think it’s a perfect polish for Christmas… shimmery, packed full of glitter and it looks great under fairy lights!! I love this polish, it’s a contender for my favourite glittery polish ever. And that’s saying something because I’ve about 100! This polish lasted around 3 days without chipping, they started wearing at the tips on the third day but didn’t actually chip off in chunks. I also didn’t use a top coat on it either as it was so shiny already, so three days is actually pretty good!
Also if you are health conscious (unlike me…) all Jessica Custom Nail Colours are 3-free and don’t contain any nasties like Toulene, Formaldehyde, DBP etc! They retail at about €12.95 and are available from French Cosmetics!
Have you tried Jessica Nails? Are you a fan?
As I’ve said before… I am the most easily persuaded person ever. So when I saw a FB post by Frillseeker advertising a pretty free gift offer from Bourjois on in Boots… I knew it would be mine. All you had to do was spend €20 on Bourjois products and you got a nifty free Christmas gift worth €40. Simples! Full of full-size goodies, no testers here!! A Smoky Eye Trio in greys, a glossy red Effet (I didn’t leave out the c, it is Effet not Effect) 3D Lipgloss, a vampy red So Laque Nail Polish and a black Volume Glamour Max Holidays mascara.
I’ll do a post on the Iconic Glam gift set goodies another day, this post is about the Bourjois products I bought to get the free gift. I bought the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer (€9.99) and Bourjois Radiance Revealed Healthy Mix Foundation (€13.99), for no reason other than I looked how they looked and needed a new foundation. Naturally the concealer had to be bought too…
I generally shy away from creamy liquid concealers as I’m too lazy to apply it. However – this concealer rocks. It claims to smooth away dark circles and imperfections while also being moisturising and light enough to let your skin breathe. I chose the lightest shade as it’s Winter and I’m whiter than a polar bear. It provides brilliant coverage and is super creamy so it’s easy to apply with your fingers, and you can build it up if you need some extra coverage. I found it brightened up the bags under my eyes and covered up any blemishes!
The foundation isn’t as creamy as the concealer, it’s much lighter and has a gel like texture. I LOVE this foundation, it don’t often find formulas that work well with my skin but when I do I stick with them, and this is one I will definitely be repurchasing! It made my skin look fresher without being caked in product and was effortless to blend in. Naturally it compliments the matching foundation perfectly, but I’m sure it will work well with any other liquid/creamy foundation too.
There’s a slight fruity fresh scent, but it disappears quickly! Healthy Mix Radiance Revealed Healthy Mix Foundation is the perfect mix for my skin, doesn’t slide off the oiler parts or skin or flake on the drier parts. A bit of powder on top to help it set – it didn’t last 16 hours however, maybe 7 or 8 maximum and there’s no SPF… but apart from that it’s awesome.
As they’re both hydrating, mositurising and fairly pale – I think I may have come across my perfect Winter foundation & concealer combo! Such great value for a budget brand, I will definitely be buying it again!
Have you tried this range? What did you think?
Everyone knows The Body Shop is famous for how good it’s product smells… and it’s latest Christmas Range is no exception. Think spicy gingerbreads (Ginger Sparkle), warm vanillas (Vanilla Bliss) and fruity cranberry (Cranberry Joy) scents – all mixed together in body butters, shower gels, lip balms and soaps. YUM! And they all come in cute festive packages – a few of my favourites are photographed above – (L-R) The Body Butter Lollipop (€29.95), The Joyful Gingerbread House (€29.95) and the Shea Scrub & Soften Gift Set (€25.95).
There are so many gorgeous goodies that are perfect as presents for the beauty enthusiasts in your life (ahem, or for you). This Christmas, The Body Shop is showing it’s commitment to Community Fair Trade by helping to build five schools around the world by donating $300,000 of sales of their Christmas gifts worldwide. So you can feel extra good about buying your Christmas gifts this year because you’re helping to give the gift of education to children in communities in Ghana, Honduras, Nepal and Northern and Southern India. I’ll be stocking up on their Ginger Sparkle range before it all runs out because you can’t get it after Christmas, and it’s one of my favourite smells ever. Ginger is not just for Christmas…keep the spirit all year round
